Asparagus—one of the first signs that spring has truly arrived! This crisp, vibrant vegetable is in peak season from March through June, making it the perfect time to enjoy it at its freshest. Ingredients
1 lb of fresh Asparagus
1-2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper
1 Lemon for garnish (optional)
Preparation
Place a steamer basket into a large stock pot, and pour enough water to just below the bottom of the steamer basket.
Bring water to a rolling boil.
Lay asparagus in a steamer basket, cover, and steam until crisp-tender, about 4-5 minutes.
Transfer asparagus to a serving dish, drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish with lemon and serve immediately.
